________________________________________________________________________________ DURHAM FRIENDS MEETING - Meetinghouse Automatic Lantern Windows OPERATING PROCEDURE The lantern windows may be opened and closed using a battery-powered, hand-held remote, which is mounted on the wall of the meetingroom. At least a few regular windows should be opened before opening the lantern window. If the batteries run out, the system will need to be re-programmed. Low batteries are indicated by a battery-shaped icon at the lower part of the remote screen. If the battery-shaped icon is flashing, the batteries are too low to use. Before opening windows, turn off all four thermostats by: pressing the System button until the OFF icon appears. Before leaving and turn the thermostat back on by: pressing the System button until the Heat or Cool icon appear. To open the lantern window, go to the wall-mounted remote and: (1) Press the Unit button until the word "All" appears; (2) Press the Mode button until the word "Motor" appears; and (3) Press the Open button once. All windows will now open to 75% of their full-open position. Pressing the Close button while the window is opening will stop the windows. Before leaving, be sure to close the lantern windows. To close the lantern window, go to the wall-mounted remote and: (1) Press the Unit button until the word "All" appears; (2) Press the Mode button until the word "Motor" appears; and (3) Press the Close button once. All windows will now close. (4) Turn the thermostat back on by pressing the System button until the Heat or Cool icon appear. ________________________________________________________________________________ To re-program the lantern window system: (1) Replace the three AAA batteries in the remote. The remote display will show the word "Set"; (2) Press the Open button on the remote once; Press the Unit button until the word "All" appears on the remote; (3) Press the Open button again. The radio receivers are above the ceiling to the meeting room entry way, at the North side of the meeting room. It should not be necessary to reach these boxes when re-programming the lantern window remote.
